My client wanted to give a special 30th birthday present to their son. As the receiver is very into water sports, especially jet boarding, we wanted the painting to reflect his dear hobby. I planned a color scheme for the most beautiful blue and turqoise water and we agreed to use gold to bring life to it. Sometimes it can be a challenge to pick between different metallics! To understand the painting receivers world even better, I watched some jet boarding videos and studied the movement of the water. I wanted to depict the softness and soothing nature of the sea, but at the same time add some synamics and speed in circles on the sides of the painting that I saw were drawn on the water surface. And no matter the activity, the sun always glimmers in the waves like gilded foam.
