The familiar feels calming, and the paved road is easier to walk than uncharted territories.
I painted each black block of with thick structure, building the strokes over and over again. Having the paint flow in it’s rifts felt like liquid poetry, and the thickness was like rebellion. I didn’t want each of the strokes pointing in the same direction, surrendering to the obvious pattern. So I created a dance - a surprise, where both the direction and angle changes. And a touch of gold, for joy. Because that’s what we sometimes need to do in life: a change of direction, shift the angle
and a simple surrender to the dance.
